The two-hit pitching of Sam McDowell in the first game and five homers in the second game enabled the Indians to sweep a twi-night doubleheader with the Brewers, 4-1 and 9-5. Graig Nettles, who homered for the Indians in the lidlifter, smashed two in the nightcap, as did Duke Sims. Ray Fosse added the Tribe's fifth homer of the game. Danny Walton, who doubled and scored the Brewers' run off McDowell, also hit a homer in the second game.
