A walk to Frank Howard and singles by Rick Reichardt and Aurelio Rodriguez in the eighth inning produced the run that enabled the Senators to edge the White Sox, 5-4. The White Sox took a 3-0 lead, but the Senators erupted for four runs in the fourth. Howard doubled and Rodriguez tripled to drive in the first two runs and, after a pass to Ed Stroud, Paul Casanova plated the pair with a double.
