. . . where the 1970s live forever!
A walk to Frank Howard and singles by Rick Reichardt and Aurelio Rodriguez in the eighth inning produced the run that enabled the Senators to edge the White Sox, 5-4. The White Sox took a 3-0 lead, but the Senators erupted for four runs in the fourth. Howard doubled and Rodriguez tripled to drive in the first two runs and, after a pass to Ed Stroud, Paul Casanova plated the pair with a double. The Nats then increased their margin to 5-3 in the eighth before the White Sox fell short with a run in the ninth on a triple by Bill Melton and a single by Duane Josephson. [The Sporting News]
