After failing to hold a 5-0 lead, the Cubs scored on successive singles by Glenn Beckert, Billy Williams and Jim Hickman in the 11th inning to defeat the Dodgers, 6-5. The Cubs kayoed Alan Foster while scoring three times in the first inning and added two runs on a bases-loaded single by Williams in the fourth.
