After rallying to tie the score, the Astros pushed across a run in the 11th inning to beat the Phillies, 8-7. Larry Bowa had a hand in the Phillies' first four runs, scoring two and driving in two with a triple. Ron Stone doubled with the bases loaded in the eighth, counting three other runs and putting the Phillies ahead, 7-5.

The Astros picked up a run on singles by Norm Miller and Marty Martinez and a double by Joe Morgan in their half of the eighth and tied the count in the ninth on a walk to Jim Wynn, a single by Doug Rader and sacrifice fly by Miller. In the 11th, Wynn singled, Rader sacrificed and Denis Menke broke up the game with a single. [The Sporting News]
