Swinging at the first pitch of the game, Tommy Harper hit a homer to start the Brewers off to a 5-2 victory over the White Sox. The Brewers added their other runs in the third on a double by Russ Snyder, a pass to Ted Savage, singles by Mike Hegan and Ted Kubiak, a wild pitch and a single by Phil Roof. The White Sox had only six hits, including a homer by Ed Herrmann, off Lew Krausse. [The Sporting News]
