Art Shamsky smashed a two-run homer and Jim McAndrew pitched a five-hitter as the Mets snapped their five-game losing streak by defeating the Astros, 2-0. After Cleon Jones singled in the sixth, Shamsky's homer ended a string of 25 scoreless innings pitched by Jack Billingham, who was tagged with his first loss of the season. McAndrew, who was helped out of his only jam by a double play in the seventh, turned in his first complete game of the year.
