. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Jim Bunning and Dick Selma, who divided the pitching chores, yielded only one hit apiece and catcher-coach Doc Edwards batted in both runs with a single as the Phillies defeated the Braves, 2-1. Deron Johnson walked in the second inning, Larry Bowa doubled and both scored on Edwards' hit. Bunning injured his left side running out a single in the fifth.

Clete Boyer ended an 0-for-29 slump by hitting a homer for the Braves' run in the sixth. Bunning then struck out Bob Tillman before leaving the game in favor of Selma, who allowed the Braves' other hit, a single by Gil Garrido, in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
