A homer by Ken McMullen broke a tie in the 11th inning and the Angels added another run on a triple by Tommie Reynolds and a single by Tom Egan to clinch a 7-5 victory over the Orioles. A two-run homer by Dave McNally in the fifth and solo swat by Brooks Robinson in the seventh gave the Orioles a 3-2 lead before the Angels went ahead in the eighth, scoring one run on doubles by Sandy Alomar and Alex Johnson and two on a bases-loaded single by Chico Ruiz. An error and doubles by Davey Johnson and Elrod Hendricks produced the tying pair for the Orioles in the ninth.
