Willie Horton hammered three homers, including a grand slam, and drove in seven runs to power the Tigers to an 8-3 victory over the Brewers. Danny Walton batted in two runs for the Brewers with a single in the first inning, but in the Tigers' half, a single by Dick McAuliffe and passes to Elliott Maddox and Al Kaline loaded the bases. Skip Lockwood replaced Ray Peters and struck out Norm Cash, but Horton then connected for his grand slam. The Tigers' slugging outfielder homered again after a walk to Cash in the sixth and ended his big night with a solo swat in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
