. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Geting three-hit pitching from George Stone, the Braves ended a four-game losing streak by defeating the Phillies, 5-1. A double by Tony Taylor, bunt by Larry Bowa and sacrifice fly by Larry Hisle accounted for the Phillies' run in the first inning.

The Braves erupted for four runs in the second after loading the bases on two walks around a single by Tony Gonzalez. Bob Tillman singled to produce the first two tallies and Stone drove in the third run with an infield hit. After Gil Garrido bunted safely, Felix Millan hit a sacrifice fly to plate the fourth marker. [The Sporting News]
