Mel Stottlemyre triumphed in a duel with Bert Blyleven when Horace Clarke hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning to give the Yankees a 2-1 victory over the Twins. The Twins' run counted in the fourth on a triple by Tony Oliva and an infield out by Rich Reese.
