Joe Moeller turned in his first complete game since May 29, 1964, and pitched the Dodgers to a 4-2 victory over the Cardinals. The Dodgers counted twice without the benefit of a hit in the first inning. Maury Wills walked, Manny Mota was nicked by a pitch and, after a double steal, runs scored on an infield out and a wild pitch.

Willie Davis was safe on an error and scored an unearned run in the fifth on a theft of second and a single by Billy Grabarkewitz. The final Dodger run was forced across the plate in the seventh when Willie Crawford was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. [The Sporting News]
