Bob Robertson hit the first grand-slam homer of his major league career to wrap up the Pirates' 7-2 victory over the Padres. Willie Stargell started the Pirates' scoring with a round-tripper in the first inning and two more runs followed in the second on a double by Jose Pagan, single by Johnny Jeter and double by Bill Mazeroski. Matty Alou and Al Oliver singled in the fourth and Stargell walked before Robertson greeted reliever Tom Dukes with his jackpot wallop. Dave Campbell hit a homer for the Padres. [The Sporting News]
