Tom Seaver struggled through the first five innings, but then settled down and was a winner when the Mets came from behind to gain a 7-5 victory over the Braves. With Bob Tillman contributing a homer, the Braves held a 5-2 led before the Mets rallied to tie the score in the fifth on a triple by Bud Harrelson, single by Art Shamsky and homer by Wayne Garrett.

The Mets added the winning runs in the sixth. Duffy Dyer walked and when Clete Boyer threw wild on a grounder by Seaver, both runners were safe, Dyer reaching third. Dyer was run down on Tommie Agee's bouncer to Pat Jarvis, but Harrelson singled, scoring Seaver. A passed ball allowed Agee to count an insurance run. [The Sporting News]
