Aurelio Rodriguez had the biggest day of his major league career with five hits, including two homers, to lead the Senators to 8-4 and 5-3 victories over the White Sox in their first sweep of a doubleheader this season. Darold Knowles, who finished both games, picked up his 11th and 12th saves.

Rodriguez started his hitting with a homer in the second inning of the lidlifter. Frank Howard rapped a round-tripper with two men on base in the fifth. Rodriguez collected four straight hits, including his second homer of the day, and drove in three runs in the nightcap. [The Sporting News]
