Hot-hitting Roy White whacked a single, double and homer, driving in four runs, to lead the streaking Yankees to a 6-2 victory over the White Sox. With the Chisox ahead, 2-1, Horace Clarke doubled in the sixth inning, Bobby Murcer hit a pop single and White sent them home with a double. After taking third on the throw to the plate, White also scored on a wild pitch.

White hit his homer in the eighth following a single by Murcer. The victory was the sixth straight for the Yankees. White's splurge gave him 11 hits in his last 14 trips to the plate, representing a .786 streak. [The Sporting News]
