Fergie Jenkins turned in the Cubs' first complete-game shutout of the season and defeated the Giants, 6-0. Jenkins got more than enough scoring support in the third inning when Billy Williams homered and, after a pass to Jim Hickman, Ron Santo also hit for the circuit. The Cubs' only other shutout was a combined effort by Joe Decker, Hank Aguirre and Phil Regan in a 1-0 victory over the Pirates April 27. [The Sporting News]
