Hitting his first homer since May 24, Tony Horton connected with two men on base in the eighth inning to give the Indians their fifth straight victory with a 6-3 decision over the Senators. Graig Nettles and Ray Fosse homered earlier in the game for the Indians, while the Senators had a round-tripper by Aurelio Rodriguez.

With the score tied, 3-3, Fosse singled in the eighth and Nettles walked. Dick Such then replaced Jim Shellenback and on his first pitch, Horton hammered his homer. [The Sporting News]
