Bill Singer received credit for his second victory since recovering from an attack of hepatitis when the Dodgers defeated the Reds, 6-1. Singer pitched five innings before going out for a pinch-hitter. Jose Pena and Jim Brewer finished. Johnny Bench homered off Pena in the eighth to save the Reds from being shut out. The Dodgers had homers by Andy Kosco and Tom Haller. [The Sporting News] |
