Coming from behind, the Angels gained a 6-5 victory over the Brewers on a two-run double by Jay Johnstone with the bases loaded in the 10th inning. The Brewers built up a 4-1 lead, but Jim Fregosi started the Angels' rally with his 12th homer of the season and 100th of his major league career in the seventh. The Angels picked up another run in the eighth and tied the game in the ninth when Joe Azcue singled and pinch-runner Jarvis Tatum scored from third, after two out, on a single by Sandy Alomar.

Mike Hegan doubled and Bob Burda singled to put the Brewers ahead again in the 10th, but in the Angels' half, a single by Fregosi, double by Alex Johnson and intentional pass to Jim Spencer loaded the bases to set the stage for Johnstone's game-winning double. [The Sporting News]
