Dave McNally gained his 10th victory of the season and 100th of his major league career when the Orioles defeated the Senators, 4-2, to complete the sweep of the four-game series. The Orioles erased the Senators' 2-1 lead by scoring three runs in the third inning. Don Buford walked, stole second and crossed the plate on a single by Brooks Robinson. After Boog Powell walked, Terry Crowley singled to drive in the tie-breaking tally. Crowley subsequently counted an insurance run on a single by Davey Johnson. [The Sporting News]
