. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Woodie Fryman pitched his first shutout of the season and Byron Browne batted in two runs in each game as the Phillies beat the Expos in a doubleheader, 6-0 and 3-2. Fryman yielded four hits in his whitewashing. Deron Johnson doubled to drive in two of the Phillies' runs in the first inning. Browne homered with a man on base in the seventh.

Tony Taylor started the scoring for the Phillies in the nightcap with a round-tripper in the first. A homer by Mack Jones in the fourth and another run in the fifth on singles by Bobby Wine and Marv Staehle, around a sacrifice, gave the Expos a 2-1 lead, but Ron Stone singled for the Phillies in the sixth, Rick Joseph was safe on an error and Browne batted them home with a double.
