Bill Singer, still recuperating from an attack of hepatitis, pitched no-hit ball for 7 2/3 innings before giving up a single by Clete Boyer and leaving the game as the Dodgers defeated the Braves, 7-0. Pete Mikkelsen, who also was a victim of hepatitis, relieved and gave up another hit, a single by Gil Garrido in the ninth.

The Dodgers, who got their first run on a homer by Wes Parker in the fourth, clinched the decision with six runs in the fifth. Singer drew a walk with the bases loaded to force in the first counter. A double by Billy Grabarkewitz and single by Manny Mota each accounted for two runs and Parker then doubled to plate Mota with the final marker. [The Sporting News]
