Dan McGinn, who was the winner with a helping hand from Claude Raymond, also scored the Expos' deciding run in a 2-1 victory over the Phillies. The Expos picked up an unearned run off Jim Bunning in the first inning and added their other counter in the fifth when McGinn singled and Marv Staehle doubled.

McGinn was removed after Rick Joseph and Jim Hutto singled and Oscar Gamble sacrificed in the ninth. Ron Stone got an infield hit off Raymond to drive in a run, but the reliever retired the next two batters to save the victory for McGinn. [The Sporting News]
