Frank Howard homered with a man on base in the first inning and Aurelio Rodriguez connected with two aboard in the eighth to bring the Senators a 5-3 victory over the Orioles. After Howard's smash, the Orioles went ahead, 3-2. Ed Brinkman opened the Nats' eighth with a single and was forced by Wayne Comer. Howard walked and was replaced on the paths by Ed Stroud, who was forced by Rick Reichardt. Rodriguez then came to the plate and hit his winning homer off Mike Cuellar. [The Sporting News]
