Cesar Tovar tripled in the sixth inning and Jim Perry, who had doubled, scored the run that gave the Twins a 5-4 victory over the Royals. Perry got off to a shaky start, giving up all four of the Royals' runs in the first on singles by Cookie Rojas and Amos Otis, doubles by Ed Kirkpatrick and Lou Piniella and a single by Tom Matchick. The Twins came back with three runs in their half and tied the score in the third when Herman Hill, Tony Oliva and Jim Holt singled. [The Sporting News]
