Playing in his 300th consecutive game with the Red Sox, Carl Yastrzemski cracked a two-run homer to help beat the Senators, 6-5. Yastrzemski's smash in the seventh inning followed a double by Reggie Smith and broke a 2-2 tie. Rico Petrocelli then singled and George Scott homered.
