Playing in his 300th consecutive game with the Red Sox, Carl Yastrzemski cracked a two-run homer to help beat the Senators, 6-5. Yastrzemski's smash in the seventh inning followed a double by Reggie Smith and broke a 2-2 tie. Rico Petrocelli then singled and George Scott homered. The Senators rallied for two runs in the eighth, but Sparky Lyle relieved Mike Nagy with the bases loaded and collected his 12th save. [The Sporting News]
