Carl Yastrzemski hit a homer and a single, driving in three runs, and Billy Conigliaro added a homer in support of Gary Peters, who pitched the Red Sox to a 5-0 victory over the Senators. Peters gave up six hits. The Red Sox also were held to six hits, two by Peters, who got credit for an RBI by drawing a pass with the bases loaded in the fourth inning. [The Sporting News]
