Willie Davis hit a homer, triple and two singles, driving in three runs, and Jim Brewer turned in three innings of shutout relief to gain the victory as the Dodgers defeated the Giants, 8-6. Five of the Giants' runs scored on homers. Bobby Bonds belted a pair, each with the bases empty, and Bob Taylor connected as a pinch-hitter with two aboard in the sixth.

Davis tied the score at 6-6 with his round-tripper in the seventh. A pass to Billy Grabarkewitz, single by Manny Mota and error by Ken Henderson put the Dodgers ahead in the eighth and Davis followed with a single to plate an insurance run. [The Sporting News]
