After Ted Savage homered with two out in the 12th inning to win the first game, 4-3, Lew Krausse pitched the Brewers to a 1-0 victory in the second game to complete the sweep of a twi-night doubleheader with the White Sox. Mike Hershberger homered with two men on base in the third inning of the lidlifter to account for the Brewers' first three runs. Carlos May batted in a pair for the White Sox with a single in the sixth and the tying tally followed in the seventh on singles by Ken Berry and Walt Williams and an infield out by Luis Aparicio. Marty Pattin hurled the route for the Brewers and was the winner on Savage's swat off reliever Wilbur Wood.
