The Yankees, after losing a 4-0 lead, came back to defeat the Orioles, 7-5, in a game called because of rain with one out in Baltimore's half of the eighth inning. Jake Gibbs hit a two-run homer for the Yankees in their fast getaway, but Boog Powell batted in two tallies with a pair of singles and Brooks Robinson hit a two-run double as the Orioles went ahead, 5-4.

In the sixth, the Yankees tied the score with two out when Horace Clarke drew a pass with the bases loaded. Jerry Kenney followed with a single, driving in two runs, to provide the winning margin. [The Sporting News]
