The Senators broke a four-game losing streak when Casey Cox turned in his first route-going performance of the season to beat the Indians. 9-3. Paul Casanova, Tom Grieve and Rick Reichardt hit homers in support of Cox. Grieve's homer was the first of his major league career.

Casanova batted in three runs with his homer, a sacrifice fly and a single. Tim Cullen also accounted for three RBIs with a sacrifice fly and single. Ray Fosse and Ted Uhlaender homered for the Indians. [The Sporting News]
