Bobby Bolin not only pitched effectively, scattering eight hits, but drove in one of the Brewers' runs with a single in a 2-1 victory over the Athletics. Jerry McNertney singled in the second inning and, after a pass to Ted Kubiak, Bolin hit his scoring single. The Brewers added the other run in the sixth on singles by Bob Burda and McNertney around an infield out.

The Athletics counted in the eighth when Bert Campaneris doubled, stole third and continued home after a wide throw by McNertney. However, the run became earned when Rick Monday followed with a single. [The Sporting News]
