A single by Tom Tischinski with two out in the 10th inning scored Harmon Killebrew from second base and gave the Twins a 6-5 victory over the Orioles. The Orioles took a 3-0 lead with the aid of a homer by Elrod Hendricks, but Rich Reese rapped a round-tripper with two men on base to tie the score in the seventh.

The Orioles came back with a two-run homer by Davey Johnson in their half. Killebrew homered in the eighth and the Twins tied the count in the ninth with a walk to Tischinski, a passed ball, a single by Cesar Tovar and an error by Hendricks on the throw to the plate. In the 10th, Killebrew singled, advanced on a sacrifice by Ron Perranoski and crossed the plate on Tischinski's single. [The Sporting News]
