Rewarding the five-hit pitching of Don Sutton, Wes Parker singled with the bases loaded in the 10th inning to give the Dodgers a 1-0 victory over the Mets, who suffered their fifth straight defeat. Tom Seaver, who started for the Mets, was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the top half of the 10th and Tug McGraw, in relief, was the loser.

Manny Mota opened the Dodgers' half with a single and was sacrificed to second by Sutton. After an intentional pass to Billy Grabarkewitz, Willie Davis beat out an infield hit to load the bases. Parker's winning single was his third hit of the game. Joe Foy had three of the Mets' five safeties. [The Sporting News]
