A sacrifice fly by Dave Cash capped a three-run rally in the eighth inning as the Pirates came from behind to defeat the Braves, 6-5. Triples by Manny Sanguillen and Cash helped the Pirates take a 3-0 lead in the second inning, but the Braves exploded for five runs in the sixth. A single by Bob Tillman drove in a pair of go-ahead tallies.

Richie Hebner started the Pirates' rally in the eighth with a single, took second on an error by Hank Aaron and scored on a single by Al Oliver. A pinch-double by Roberto Clemente and pass to Sanguillen loaded the bases. Bob Robertson was hit by a pitch, forcing in the tying run, and Cash followed with his fly. [The Sporting News]
