A total of 44 players saw action, including 15 pitchers and 11 pinch-hitters, before the Angels defeated the Senators, 11-10, in 11 innings. President Nixon, who attended, saw the Angels end the three-hour, 56-minute contest when Billy Cowan singled and raced home from first base with two out on a double by Jarvis Tatum.
