Maury Wills and Manny Mota had three hits apiece and Billy Grabarkewitz contributed a homer as the Dodgers beat the Phillies, 6-2. A single by Wills, safe bunt by Mota, double by Wes Parker and infield out by Jim Lefebvre gave the Dodgers two runs in the first inning.

After the Phillies came back to tie the score, the Dodgers broke away with two runs in the fifth. A double by Willie Crawford and single by Wills produced the first run. Singles by Mota and Willie Davis loaded the bases and Parker added another tally with a sacrifice fly. A triple by Tom Haller led to run in the sixth and Grabarkewitz homered in the eighth.
