The Nats' run in the sixth inning came without a hit on a pass to Tom Grieve, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly by Frank Howard. Tommy Harper tied the score with a homer the in Brewers' half. Ted Savage was safe on an error by Howard in the seventh, Dave May walked and, after a forceout by Roberto Pena, Phil Roof and Ted Kubiak each batted in a run with a single.
