Bill Melton, who struck out in 10 straight official times at bat before flying out in the ninth inning of the previous night's game, rapped a single and a double and scored twice to bring the White Sox a 2-1 victory over the Orioles. Boog Powell homered for the Orioles' run in the fourth inning. Melton doubled in the seventh and counted on a single by Duane Josephson.
