Sonny Siebert, making his first start since pulling a muscle in his lower back July 22, allowed only one hit and pitched the Red Sox to a 2-0 victory over the Angels. Siebert gave up a single by Jay Johnstone in the third inning. After walking Jim Fregosi in the fourth, Siebert retired 16 men in a row before giving up his second and last pass to Roger Repoz in the ninth.
