The Dodgers, who built up an early lead on a two-run homer by Tom Haller in the second inning and two unearned runs in the third, returned to the attack with four runs in the ninth to gain an 8-5 victory over the Expos in the first game of a scheduled twi-night doubleheader. The second game was rained out.

In the ninth, Wes Parker tripled, Haller walked, Ted Sizemore singled, Bill Russell tripled and Jim Brewer singled during the winning outburst. Bob Bailey drove in three runs for the Expos with a homer and a single. [The Sporting News]
