Chuck Dobson allowed only four hits and posted his fourth shutout of the season, pitching the Athletics to a 5-0 victory over the Senators. Rick Monday knocked in two runs with a triple in the third inning to start the A's scoring. Other runs followed in the fifth on a homer by Frank Fernandez, double by Bert Campaneris and singles by Rick Monday and Felipe Alou.
