. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Reds rapped Clay Kirby for 11 hits, but all were singles, while the Padres banged 11 hits, including a homer and double by Ollie Brown, to beat the Western division leaders, 10-3. Kirby was aided by four double plays. Brown hit his homer after Jose Arcia and Cito Gaston had singled in the third inning. Brown's double drove in two of the Padres' five runs in a seventh-inning outburst. [The Sporting News]
