Dan McGinn gave up only three hits, none after the second inning, and pitched the Expos to an 8-0 victory over the Pirates. The Expos iced the verdict with a six-run explosion in the fourth. After singles by John Bateman and Bobby Wine, together with a pass to Marv Staehle, loaded the bases, an infield hit by Raon Fairly, an error and a single by Rusty Staub produced three runs.
