. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Joe Grzenda, relieving Dick Bosman with two men on base and none out in the seventh inning, choked off a Tigers' threat and saved the Senators' 4-0 victory. The Senators scored all their runs in the third. A safe bunt by Wayne Comer and singles by Ed Brinkman, Frank Howard and Aurelio Rodriguez produced the first two tallies. Afer Howard and Rodriguez moved up on a grounder by Paul Casanova, Mike Epstein sent them home with a single. [The Sporting News]
