A pair of two-run homers by Jim Spencer sparked the Angels to a 7-5 victory over the Twins. The Angels were trailing, 4-1, when Tommie Reynolds singled and Spencer cut his club's deficit with a homer in the sixth inning. The Twins picked up a run in their half, but the Angels then rallied for three in the eighth. Ray Oyler singled and Ken McMullen walked. Billy Cowan grounded into a double play, erasing McMullen, but Reynolds singled to score Oyler. Spencer followed with his second homer of the game for the winning blow.
