Leading off in the 14th inning, George Mitterwald smashed a homer to give the Twins a 2-1 victory over the Angels. Bill Voss hit for the circuit in the eighth to produce the Angels' tally. The Twins tied the score in their half when Harmon Killebrew was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing in pinch-runner Jim Kaat, who took over after Charlie Manuel drew a walk to open the stanza.
