Ted Uhlaender singled off Dick Hall, driving in two runs, and Eddie Leon hit a sacrifice fly to tie the score.

With one out, Dennis Higgins singled to kayo Hall. With Pete Richert on the mound, Vada Pinson batted in a run with a double and Graig Nettles plated a pair with a single. Nettles took second on the throw home and counted when Foster hit his second single of the stanza.
