Then, in the ninth, Willie Davis doubled home one run, Jeff Torborg added a pair with a single and Willie Crawford capped the attack with a two-run double. Pete Mikkelsen, the Dodgers' winner in relief, was knocked out in the Pirates' half of the ninth, but Charlie Hough retired the last batter and received credit for a save in his first appearance since coming from Spokane (Pacific Coast).
